Postgraduate Courses
The Department of Spatial Sciences is an acknowledged leader for research of international significance in the areas of geodesy, GNSS, laser scanning and digital imaging, geographic information science (GIScience) and remote sensing and has a number of internationally experienced staff with a range of expertise in these and other areas.
The Department is committed to providing cutting-edge research to the world market through close collaborative links with other universities, government and industry, and with strong support from the Australian Research Council, the Cooperative Research Centre for Spatial Information and the Australian Biosecurity Cooperative Research Centre.
Postgraduate courses enable students to further their studies in a number of areas.

- Graduate Diploma in Surveying and Mapping
- Master of Science (Geospatial Science)
Two streams are offered within this course:
- Geographic Information Science Stream
- Surveying and Mapping Stream
- The Master of Science (Geospatial Science) courses are fully accredited by the Royal Institution for Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
